Discussion:
What is the highest possible SSDI monthly payment?

Just curious.

Assume an individual had paid Social Security taxes on $200K income a
year for 10 years. That is, he maxed out his Social Security payments
each year for 10 years.

Suddenly, he's 100% disabled and gets an SSDI award.

No complicating factors like dependent children, lump sum, medicare
deductions, so on.

What is the highest monthly payment he can expect?

Thank you
Mo

Per the Social Security web site, the highest retirement
payout per month is just under $2350. So that should also be
the maximum SSDI payout per month.

What's your monthly PAYMENT? Also, what exactly is it that you are getting
paid to do?

The only one who dreams about HAVING a pay grade is you.

Also, the check that a societal parasite receives is a handout, not a payment.
We now see the posting of a true parasite on society.

Note how it did NOT see "SSDI"--which is INSURANCE. True
parasites DON'T have insurance because they expect (plan) to
leech off society and NOT pay their own way (which is
exactly what THE PARASITE is doing--leeching off this group,
for example). Those who have INSURANCE have paid a fee to
the insurer to be compensated if they become DISABLED.

Been reading old comments after recent search re SS payouts... Same for several sites in the last few years. There is a pattern for these sites. A nice person asks a ligit question gets a lagit answer and boom, up pops stupid. I think, and I may be wrong, that it is indicative of global society; "40% of the total US population is absolutely stupid"!! (Bill Maher) After over 70 years and lots of global travel I think we must lower our expectations and just learn to accept the stupid, on line, in the right lane, on TV ("FoxNews"), walking four abreast on a 5' wide sidewalk or riding a bicycle on the same sidewalk, ad infinitum..., and especially in the comments sections. Really, it is our expectations that are causing the problem, as the 40% are not going to just get un-stupid. I worry about the well meaning who actually engage an idiot in hopes of pulling them out of stupid. Get over it, accept it, as they are just simply stupid. To drive my point I will not come back to this site, but you can use my approach; just tell them it is ok to be stupid!!

Why would anyone consider my receiving a monthly check from Social Security as "parasitic" or "being on the dole" after I paid tens of thousands of dollars when I was working with the understanding that I would receive those check when I retired?

"The maximum benefit depends on the age you retire. For example, if
you retire at full retirement age in 2015, your maximum benefit would
be $2,663. However, if you retire at age 62 in 2015, your maximum
benefit would be $2,025. If you retire at age 70 in 2015, your maximum
benefit would be $3,501."

Anyone claiming SSDI or SSA retirement benefits are welfare is stupid.
It would be the equivalent to making the claim people who collect
insurance benefits from car accidents, houses burned down, or health
insurance coverage were also on welfare. Yet the people making those
claims do file health insurance claims, make other insurance claims,
etc--so they are on welfare as well (by *their* definition).

In addition to the fact that you are talking about a handout and not a
benefit, there's more to it than the amounts of the monthly handouts. If
the parasite in your example starts receiving handouts at age 62, at age
70 he will wind up with $36450 in handouts plus whatever interest is
accrued for eighteen years from investing the money. On the other hand,
if the parasite in your example is greedy and defers receiving handouts
until age 70, and if he croaks at age 72, he's lost out on over $30K.

Anyone who denies it is lying to himself.

The situations are not quivalent. If I don't have homeowners insurance
and if my house burns down, I get nothing.
Zero...zip....nada....nothing. But parasites like you can claim that
people like me give them a head ache which prevents them from working,
and the government will give them handouts using my tax money.

Thank you
Mo
SSA MONEY DOES NOT COME FROM INCOME TAX...SSI IS A TYPE OF WELFARE...SSDI IS NOT WELFARE.
