The point of perfect impact is a legacy that I've failed often to repeat,
but God loves me anyway.

That was the day that the 170 pound truck wheel came bouncing towards me as
I was going 65 mph on I-70 out west. I hit the wheel on its downward bounce
with my bumper. It shot up in the air 20 feet and off to the side of the
road. There was no apparent damage to my Plymouth Horizon, although 2 weeks
later the transmission went out. The mechanic said I broke a motor mount.

The voices that wanted me dead put me in great peril, and the voices that
wanted me alive saved me from disaster. "Speed up. Slow down. Speed
up..." I can still hear them say.
